The Coalition of Oregon School Administrators (COSA), in partnership with Human Capital Enterprises (HCE), is assisting the Mapleton School District in the search for an outstanding and highly qualified Superintendent of Schools. The Mapleton School Board makes every key decision along the way in the selection of a new superintendent and utilizes the search firm to guide them through each step in the process.
The consultants bring many resources and connections to the search process including COSA’s work with nearly 3,000 administrators throughout the state and a nationally-acclaimed reputation for its cultivation and support of both aspiring and experienced leaders, and HCE’s long reputation of leading search processes in districts throughout Oregon and in many other states.
The two consultants working with the Board have many years of experience in K-12 education. Kathleen Rodden Nord and Krista Parent have nearly 40 years of Oregon K-12 superintendent experience between the two of them and know just about every current and aspiring K-12 leader in Oregon. Krista was the 2007 Oregon and National Superintendent of the Year and both Kathleen and Krista both served in smaller, rural communities in Oregon.
The search process will include several opportunities to share input on the characteristics desired in a new superintendent, including a survey for staff and community members, focus group interviews for stakeholders from the district and the community and extensive conversations with the school board.
The process aims to select a top candidate in early April and the new superintendent will begin duties on July 1, 2022.
