Senior Spotlight: Asher Geil
Senior Spotlight: Asher Geil
Mr. Asher Geil began attending Mapleton in fifth grade. One of his greatest achievements at MHS has been his involvement in the Garden PBL, where he has worked tirelessly to improve the program from the very beginning.
Over the past two summers, Asher spent countless hours helping maintain the garden so it would be ready for harvest. Much of the produce benefited the Mapleton community and supported the school lunch program.
For his senior project, Asher helped build a tool shed for the garden, creating a lasting contribution that will benefit students for many years to come.
Asher participated in football and basketball during high school. His favorite classes were English, because it helped him refine his writing skills, and Engineering, because he enjoyed creating projects.
Asher admires all of his teachers and appreciates the different ways they supported and cared for him throughout his time at Mapleton.
Asher’s favorite memory is “Elementary Beef,” and he says there have simply been too many funny memories to choose just one.
Next fall, Asher plans to attend LCC to earn his contractor’s license. He also hopes to learn tree climbing and incorporate it into his future career.
Asher’s advice to his peers is simple and practical: “Try your best!”
Thank you, Asher, for everything you have contributed to MHS. You have positively influenced more people than you will probably ever know. We look forward to seeing all you accomplish in the years ahead.
